Duke’s Office of Biomedical Graduate Education and the UNC Office of Graduate Education are pleased to announce this jointly sponsored Summer Leadership Series for Biomedical PhD Students! In weekly meetings of 2-3 hours, over the course of six weeks in July and August, biomedical doctoral students will be empowered to discover and develop their own leadership potential. This is an incredible opportunity for students to learn more about their own strengths and weaknesses, engage in structured and meaningful professional development activities, gain a deeper understanding into what makes them “tick” as scientists, and develop their confidence and competence as a professional, all while meeting other students at Duke and UNC. Program participants will both develop and demonstrate leadership, management, and interpersonal skills to improve performance as a student and impress future employers. Students successfully completing all program elements will earn a Certificate of Excellence in Leadership.
Deadline for competitive application is Sunday April 23rd, 10 pm. Students must agree to attend all sessions and will be responsible for their own transportation to UNC Chapel Hill. Only post-prelimSchool of Medicine Biomedical PhD students are eligible. For full eligibility and application information, as well as a tentative agenda, pleasefollow this link.
