Duke’s Office of Biomedical Graduate Education is hosting a round-table discussion with students who attended this year’sAAAS Catalyzing Advocacy for Science & Engineering Workshop. Join us for an informal Q&A session with the 2017 Duke representatives who will share what they learned from their recent trip, which was a crash course in the federal budget process, appropriations bills, the structures of congress and federal science agencies, and effective science communication with politicians. We will also talk aboutresources and opportunities at Duke for exploring interests in science communication and science policy.
Of course, there will also be plenty of tea, coffee and cookies to keep the conversation flowing. Please note, the building will lock at 6pm, so please arrive promptly!
RSVP is appreciated, but not required, to Dr. Lillian Zwemer, firstname.lastname@example.org. Questions? Contact Lillian Zwemer.
